Toilet training dogs and particularly  puppies, is a 24 hour job for the first few days, if you sleep soundly and won’t hear when your puppy is restless during the night you will need to set an alarm. After a few days your puppy will usually sleep through the night.

Reward you dog or puppy with lots of praise any time they toilet outside. As an incentive to use the toilet area some suggest increasing the level of reward with treats. The idea is that the closer the dog relives himself to the toilet area the bigger the reward.

You will need to clean up the designated toilet area regularly. If the area is not cleaned up your dog will eventually refuse to use that area and begin to toilet in other places.
